A spicy of a popular dish. Worcersshire sauce and chorizo sausages add an extra clement to this perfect family standby.


Serves 4

15ml/1 tbsp oil

1onion, chopped

225g/8oz/2 cup minced beef

5 ml/1 tsp ground chill powder

15ml/1tbsp Worcestershire sauce

25g/1oz/2 tbsp plain flour

150ml/ ¼ pint/2/3  cup beef stock

4 chorizo sausages

2000g/7oz can chopped tomatoes

50g/2oz baby sweet corn

15ml/1 tbsp chopped fresh basil

Salt and ground black pepper

1 place the oil and onion in a large microwave proof bowl. Microwave on High for 2 minutes. Add the minced beef and chilli powder, mixing  well. Microwave on HIGH for 4-5 minutes, breaking up the mince twice during cooking.

2 stir in the Worcestershire sauce and flour. Microwave on High for 30 seconds, stirring once, before pouring in the stock.

3 Slice the chorizo sausages and halve the corn lengthways.

4 Stir in the sausages , tomatoes,sweetcorn and chopped basil. Season well, cover loosely and microwave, stirring twice .serve with spaghetti, garnished with fresh basil.

If you like , cool the Bolognese sauce and freeze it in conveniently sized portions for up to 2 months.
